Developments with Hull technology

The technology team who are made up of technicians and scientists from the world of polymers monomers and fibres have been hard at it for some time now and breakthroughs are coming in many different guises and whilst most were expected, some were right out of the blue.

Hull 2

The real truth about hull secrecy in some ways is a myth as the reality is that designers have two major obstacles to overcome and they vary dramatically and range from strength of structure through to shape and efficiency. Strength is in many ways the easiest one to explain as it simply is what it says on the tin. It's all about rigidity and the ability to perform to its maximum potential in order to provide the user with a quality and long lasting product and as I have reported previously, there are many so called "professional built craft" to which have declared their weakness by re-enforcing the failure areas or weak spots with stick on re-enforcement patches. Not only do these spoil the whole aesthetic look of the product but also have little if any overall beneficial effect on the ability to provide strength as the real problem is that the shape provides for a  too obtrusive collision points to which are simply masked over in order to provide a stronger impact resistance rather than a total re-shape in order to eradicate and remove the problem at manufacture process.

There are many things to consider when designing a hull and once again they are quite varied but in general terms one should always consider what is the application purpose of the craft  going to be designed to achieve, is it the purpose a "Grand Touring Vehicle" for multipurpose use or does the product require some more specialist treatment for applications such as racing. Whilst most hovercraft are able to travel at rapid speeds when required to do so, the shape of the hull can create issues for racing where they are of benefit for long distance travel such as a GT model.

The emphasis to which the F1 Hoverpod Manufacture team has placed at the head end of priority has been a combination of both strength and shape as the requirement for the "Manx GT" is for a super fast racing model that provides a degree of comfort with the rigidity and durability to cope with ever situation and for that reason we chose our working partner carefully. We based our decision to work with a world leader in materials technique and research facilities to which are without comparison. The breakthroughs in material wear and polymer resins are what has provided the Hoverpod with a result which places it in a league of its own when it comes to longevity and durability. The strength of the product has proven to be able to outlast other similar products by up to 4 times whilst still providing a super light structure with a super streamline and very efficient air flow system that allows for super quick acceleration and friction reduction from the hull structure.
